All of the one-syllable words can be taught by the Whole Word Method, which has the student memorize a word and then recognize it on sight.

The Whole Word method is slow, but it is effective.

Phonics is a method of teaching words by teaching the sounds of the letters. There are two methods of Phonics:

Blending Phonics teaches the sound of the letters, and how to blend the sounds into words.

Analytical Phonics uses Phonograms to teach the words.

There are many one-syllable words that Phonics cannot teach.
